Lulu a was recently convicted of being part of the Fodder Scam. It took 17 years but him and many others were finally found out. The Fooder Scam was a scam that took 300 million dollars from the Indian governments treasury. As the former Bihar chief minister him and 45 others were very swiftly found guilty in the court of law. The RJD president has now opened the door to his opposing party the JD(U). With all this corruption we see in the Indian government what will become of this cracked democracy?
1. Do you think that if the Indian government is so corrupt that good decisions could be made?
2. Do you think that America can do anything about it?
The fact that a handful of men were able to steal $300 million out of the Indian government’s treasury does not give a great sense of comfort to anyone looking to support the decisions that politicians in New Delhi make. If the Indian government cannot regulate carefully the money that a large, underdeveloped state such as itself uses to support its country, how can the average person expect decent and responsible government action in fields such as law enforcement and civil service. This is a problem that America should not involve itself with. India’s corruption is an Indian affair that can be solved most effectively by the same Indians who are familiar with the culture of corruption.
